Cologne signs 20-year-old Schorch from Real Madrid

COLOGNE, Germany (AP) - Cologne has signed 20-year-old German defender Christopher Schorch from the Real Madrid reserves.

Schorch joined Real from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2007 and played for the reserve side in the third Spanish division.
He received a four-year contract, the Bundesliga club said Tuesday.

No details were given of the deal, which came one day after Cologne signed Portugal midfielder Maniche.
