Danish football player struck by lightning

COPENHAGEN (AP) - FC Nordsjaelland defender Jonathan Richter is in a coma after being hit by lightning during a reserve game.

Richter was struck during a brief thunder storm Monday while playing against second-tier team Hvidovre, and was unconscious when he was taken away in an ambulance. Police said the 24-year-old Richter was in a coma.
FC Nordsjaelland tops the Danish league after beating defending champion FC Copenhagen 2-0 in the first round on Saturday. Richter, who joined the club in 2005, came on as a substitute in the second half.
