COPENHAGEN (AP) - Defending champion FC Copenhagen began the new Danish season with a surprising 2-0 defeat by Nordsjalland at the weekend.
Stephan Petersen scored just four minutes into the game and Martin Bernburg added a second in the 24th minute.
It was only the second win for Nordsjalland against Copenhagen in their last 22 matches. Copenhagen, which finished 39 points ahead of eighth-placed Nordsjalland last season, failed to capitalize on numerous scoring chances.
Brondby, which finished second behind its crosstown rival Copenhagen last season, drew 2-2 at home with Odense. Jon Jonsson earned Brondby a point with a 66th minute equalizer.
SonderjyskE beat Randers 1-0 courtesy of Kenneth Fabricius' eighth-minute goal, while Silkeborg drew 1-1 at Koge.
