Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed his interest in Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as the Real Madrid striker looks set to turn down Stuttgart.
The Dutch star is surplus to requirements at Real Madrid, despite only joining from Ajax in January and Stuttgart looked all set to land him after agreeing a deal worth around £15million with the Spanish giants.
However Huntelaar is heading back to Spain after talks with the Bundesliga side broke down and that is sure to signal a move from Spurs, with Redknapp confirmed the 25-year-old is a target.
"The lad is a very good goalscorer and I'm still interested in him," he said.
"I know of Stuttgart's involvement but I'm hoping we will still be able to do something.
"There's a lot of talk about who I may or may not be after but Huntelaar is the one I like."
