Scolari happy with start as coach of Bunyodkor

SAO PAULO (AP) - Former Brazil and Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is satisfied with the way things are going after 20 days as coach of Uzbekistan's Bunyodkor.

Scolari took over the club on July 1 in his first job since being fired by Chelsea in February.

"The work has been good so far," Scolari said Tuesday. "The players have responded well to the way we do things, they like to work hard and they are working with a lot of motivation."

Bunyodkor has won all three of its matches since the Brazilian coach made his debut - one in the Uzbekistan Cup and two in the domestic league, which it leads nine points ahead of second-place Pakhtakor.

"It's all going smoothly in these first 20 days," said the 60-year-old Scolari, who led Brazil to its fifth World Cup title in 2002 in South Korea and Japan.

Scolari signed an 18-month deal with the club, taking over from Brazilian great Zico.
