Wilkinson fears ease for Potters

Stoke are confident Andy Wilkinson's shoulder problem is not as serious as first feared after he was injured in their 3-1 defeat to St Pauli.

He then further inflamed the problem by falling awkwardly in training, sparking fears that he may have suffered a dislocation.

However, having undergone a medical examination, City boss Tony Pulis believes Wilkinson will not be sidelined for long.

"We will most probably keep him out of things for the next couple of days to make sure it settles down," Pulis told the Sentinel.

"We think he's just damaged the top of his shoulder and so the doctor thinks it should be OK."

Meanwhile, Pulis insists he is no in hurry to delve into the transfer market.

The Stoke boss is yet to bring in any new recruits this summer, despite being linked with a host of names, preferring instead to take his time in indentifying potential signings.

"Traditionally, we tend to sign players later than most clubs," he said.
