NEC complete Fejzullahu swoop

Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen have signed striker Erton Fejzullahu on a four-year deal from Swedish outfit Mjallby.

NEC's technical director, Carlos Aalbers, told the club's official website: "Erton is a multi-functional player who can play in more than one position in attack or in midfield.

"Besides that he is fast and he can score goals."

Fejzullahu, 21, added: "Despite the interest in me from Sweden, Denmark and many other Dutch clubs, NEC felt good from the start and I hope to have very good times here.

"In Holland all clubs are attack-minded. For young strikers that's the ideal school to develop yourself as a player and make yourself better."

Fejzullahu will increase the competition for a starting berth in NEC's attack, something that is welcomed by fellow frontman Jhon van Beukering.

"I will compete with them all for the striker's position and then the best one will play," he told Omroep Gelderland.

However, Van Beukering accepts he may not be around at NEC next season to do battle up front, with VVV-Venlo and ADO Den Haag both interested in the 25-year-old.

"I know something about that, but it's not concrete," he added.

"As long as I play here, I will do my utmost for NEC."
